Artist's Statement

        "In the summer of 1999, I meet with my girlfriend's extended family southwest of Socorro, New Mexico in a canyon for a picnic. We all had a great time. When we left Rebecca Lowe, her son Sam D'Addio and I traveled west looking for interesting landscape for paintings. We came upon this tiny hill. I was so impressed with this little knoll seeming so proud of it's self, all alone, I never forgot it. It was so New Mexico I couldn't resist."
