Original southwest landscape fine art in oil. What Robert has to say about this painting.
The painting is of the San Juan River Quality Waters at "Cottonwood Campgrounds" in northwestern New Mexico. The river is world-renowned for the best year-round fly fishing. I went there last October with my friend, Barry Hughes, an advertising executive from Oklahoma. We choose the exact time of year when the cottonwood trees change color from green to yellow. There is a very narrow margin of time, about two or three days, when the trees have a fresh bright yellow appearance. I have been trying for years to capture this on canvas."
