About this painting from Robert

Cat Mesa is at Jemez Springs, New Mexico. My friend Rollie Grandbois, a Turtle Mountain Chippewa stone carver has his studio and gallery at this view. This is his backyard, so to speak. The reference photograph was taken in March of 2004, when my artist daughter Ashley and my photographer daughter Dana, were visiting Presley La Fountain and Gordon Van Wert at Rollie's studio. I was impressed with the cold clear cloudless afternoon and the reflected light on the snow. In August of 2005, part of the face of this canyon wall fell. It looks different today; illustrating the earth truly is a living changing being.
