About this southwest fine art landscape painting from Robert
Fenton Lake - My childhood friend, Jeff Boyle, and I were on a "photo hunt" coming back from the Cuba, New Mexico area through the Santa Fe National Forest and stopped at Fenton Lake. It was becoming late in the afternoon when we stopped. We were in the parking area near the lake. I couldn't see much of the lake from there, but I could see this natural drama playing out with one tree supporting another. The bottom left side of the painting, where the bright yellow green area is where the marshy part of the lake starts. Looking to the hillsides in the middle of the painting there were no live trees. There was a forest fire that devastated a large part of the forest and Los Alamos, New Mexico less than a year before. So, I replanted the trees myself.
