Zia Reservation - This beautiful white mesa is on the Zia Indian Reservation just north of San Ysidro , New Mexico , looking south while on old State Route 44, now called State Route 550. In September of 2003, my artist girlfriend, Rebecca Lowe, and I were just driving around one afternoon, not doing anything in particular. We were sightseeing and talking when we spotted this majestic and magnificent mesa. I had to paint it.
