About this painting from Robert

The Sandias - In September of 1997 my long time friend and painting instructor, Les Hawks and I were on a "photo hunt" looking for something to paint. We went to Romero Rd. and the Rio Grande in Corrales , New Mexico and found this composition. I was looking for a sunset view of the Sandia Mountains to use one of my favorite color combinations, blue and yellow. The first few painting sketches had the Rio Grande in them. After I painted this version, I cut the bottom third off the canvas. I liked it better that way.
